Brunch Adventure in Collingswood, NJ!

Collingswood

Philly has plenty of cheap and lovely brunch spots.  You can’t beat the $10 Kegs and Eggs at Distrito, or the $5 classic breakfast at the adorable Fitzwater cafe.  But if you’ve been-there-done-that and are looking for something new, different, and exciting, why not make a day trip out of it and make your way to Tortilla Press in Collingswood, New Jersey?  Every weekend, this Mexican-influenced restaurant serves a $6 Early Bird brunch from 10:00-noon that’s worth getting up early for! Collingswood was originally buildt as a railroad suburb of Camden, but over the last few decades its been renovated in an effort to make the area a restaurant destination, and almost all of the restaurants are BYO. Collingswood also has a reputation of being LGBT friendly. To get there from Philly, take PATCO from 15th& Locust, or 8th & Market, to Collingswood.  The trip only takes about 15 minutes and…

Eat, Play, And Win Hearts at Barcade!

Barcade

And the best part? They are still just a quarter to play! Barcade can often get crowded on weekend evenings, with waits for the more popular games like Ms. Pacman and Tapper.  But weekend afternoons are a great time to…

Top Five Kissing Benches!

Drexel Park

Fall is a great time to walk around the city, taking in the sight of trees turning red and gold, the smell of fireplaces being used once again, and the sound of leaves crunching underfoot.  It’s also a great time of year to find a place to sit for a spell and cuddle up to keep warm.  Luckily for city residents, Philadelphia is full of little tucked away parks – both scenic and secluded – with benches perfect for puckering up! Here are some of my favorites, along with the nearest coffee shop.  One kissing bench + two hot beverages = a perfect fall cheap date! 1. Drexel’s mammoth glass buildings lining Market street provide cover for one of Philly’s best-kept secrets: Drexel park.  Located at 32nd street and Powelton Avenue, the park is elevated above the railroad tracks on 30th street Station, and offer an unobstructed vista of the…
